Retrospeculative is a new program from ASSOY Radio that brings the practice of the open studio into the radio format.
Instead of presenting finished works, Retrospeculative invites artists to speak from the middle of their process — at a moment when ideas are still shifting, questions remain unresolved, and directions are not yet fixed. Each episode moves between looking back and looking forward: reflecting on what has shaped the work so far while speculating on where it might go next.
The title Retrospeculative combines two gestures that rarely meet — retrospective reflection and speculative projection. The format embraces this temporal tension. It is neither documentation nor preview, but a space for articulation while the work is still becoming.
