ALI(E/A)NSI
Building on LANDSLIDE, ALI(E/A)NSI brings together artists connected to NOVILLA and Schöneweide whose relationships to this place have evolved across different generations and trajectories. Through the five interconnected territories of Alien, Alienation, Alignment, Alliance and Affinity, the exhibition reflects on belonging, coexistence and how meaningful relations might emerge despite difference.
Catalyzing Coexistence · Escurrir
The third chapter shifted from presentation to practice. Through workshops, artistic research and collective experimentation, Escurrir explored coexistence as something to be rehearsed—asking how knowledge, care and relationships can emerge through shared processes rather than fixed outcomes.
Catalyzing Coexistence — DIS/CONTINUITIES
The second chapter of Catalyzing Coexistence examined the fractures and continuities that shape contemporary coexistence. Bringing together artists, researchers and cultural practitioners, the programme explored inherited histories, migration, memory and collective responsibility, asking how relationships can be rebuilt without erasing the ruptures that precede them
Catalyzing Coexistence — Silaturahmi
Beginning with the Indonesian practice of silaturahmi, the first chapter invited artists and communities to gather around food, conversation and collective listening, asking how trust is built before collaboration becomes possible.
Catalyzing Coexistence
A year-long curatorial process exploring how coexistence is continually negotiated through artistic practice, public dialogue and shared experience. Across a series of gatherings, the programme examines trust, conflict, hospitality and interdependence as everyday social practices.
TRUSTPICTION
A long-term curatorial programme investigating the shifting relationship between trust and suspicion in diasporic realities through exhibitions, performances, research, publications and public programmes. It asks how communities are formed when certainty can no longer be taken for granted.
Dan Lain Lain Lab
An independent artistic research and publishing initiative by sōydivision dedicated to experimental knowledge production across sound, text, performance and collaborative practice. DLL Lab develops long-term inquiries through field research, conversations, publications and interdisciplinary exchange.
SUARANTAU #2
A participatory workshop collaboration from our DLL Lab and time motion studies. exploring recipes, food memories and everyday sounds as materials for collective radio composition. Through cooking, listening, storytelling and experimental broadcasting, participants transformed personal narratives into shared sonic experiences, blurring the boundaries between culinary practice, artistic research and community radio.
Shifts to the Right
A public gathering co-organised by Music Pool Berlin, Moving Poets and sōydivision in response to the growing rightward shift affecting cultural spaces and civic life. Through a panel discussion, collective mapping workshop and informal exchange, artists, organisers and neighbours came together to reflect on solidarity, resistance and the alliances needed to sustain diverse music scenes and communities.
Empathy Supper #16
Presented for the first time in Canada, Empathy Supper #16 brought together food preparation, collective conversation, improvisation and shared listening as ways of exploring trust, migration and diasporic solidarity. Hosted by Ariel William Orah in collaboration with Pedro Oliveira and featuring Karen Ng, the gathering formed the closing event of ArtsEverywhere, inviting participants to reflect on how communities cultivate empathy and alternative infrastructures of care in the face of borders, exclusion and colonial legacies.
Corpus Neutrum
A multidisciplinary performance by Regina Riveros, Carmen Volpe and Ariel Orah exploring the impossibility of the neutral body through movement, spoken word, sound and installation. Developed by Moving Poets e.V. in collaboration with sōydivision, the project examined how bodies carry histories of migration, memory, gender and power, proposing performance as a space for vulnerability, resistance and collective care. Supported by the District Office Treptow-Köpenick, Department of Culture and Museums.
Empathonic 2025
The second edition of sōydivision’s year-long concert and radio series, Empathonic #2025 brought together a collective of collectives to transform Berlin Schöneweide into a platform for experimental music, pop and interdisciplinary performance, using live broadcasts, concerts and shared listening to cultivate empathy, cultural exchange and community.
Soy&Synth #2025
A multi-month sound and performance programme by sōydivision centring diasporic experimental artists in Berlin. Bringing together concerts, discourse, collaborative publishing and communal gatherings, Soy&Synth #2025 explored improvisation, migration and memory through radical listening, translocal exchange and collective sonic experimentation.
KONGSI AKKULTURASA
A special edition of Soy & Synth presented by RASA Space and Goethe-Institut Singapore, KONGSI AKKULTURASA brought together Ariel William Orah and Mervin Wong in a living sonic assembly combining improvisation, lecture-performance, publishing and culinary intervention. Revisiting forgotten collectivisms and diasporic alliances, the project explored sound as a method of gathering, memory as a shared practice and friendship as a long-term infrastructure connecting Berlin and Singapore through the renewed collaboration between sōydivision and Midnight Shift.

Empathy Supper – Berdikari
A performative dining experience by Ariel William Orah and Asarela Dewi presented as part of Mouth Archives at Cinémathèque Leipzig. Through food, sound and moving image, Empathy Supper – Berdikari explored recipes as living archives and the shared table as a space for diasporic memory, collective care and resilience, reflecting on how communities negotiate trust, self-reliance and belonging amid contemporary social and political crises.
Landslide
A collaborative sound-based exhibition by Samuel Johnstone, Pisitakun Kuantalaeng, Ariel William Orah and collaborators exploring displacement, ecological precarity and collective resilience through the metaphor of a landslide. Developed during sōydivision’s residency at Novilla with Moving Poets e.V., LANDSLIDE invited audiences to reflect on how memory, migration and sound can help us navigate instability and imagine new forms of care when the ground beneath us begins to shift.
