Two Poetry and Embodiment Workshops with Regina Riveros

As part of SCHÖN UNGEWÖHNLICH, Regina Riveros leads two workshops exploring the connections between the body, language and community.

Through body awareness, embodiment and poetic writing exercises, participants are invited to listen to themselves and others, develop their own poetic vocabulary and explore how words can create connection.

The workshops take place at Moving Poets NOVILLA in the spatial context of the ALI(E/A)NSI exhibition. Participation is free, and no previous experience is required. You may attend either one or both workshops.

1. Poetic Bodies

How can we find our own way of telling the stories held within our bodies?

In a safe and supportive setting, participants will explore body awareness, embodiment and writing exercises. We will listen to our bodies and develop a personal poetic vocabulary through which pain, pleasure, wounds and scars can become part of our own poetic corpus.

The workshop will be held in English with German translation. Participants are encouraged to write and work in whichever language feels most natural to them.

Everyone is welcome. Participation by FLINTA* people of all ages is especially encouraged.

2. Words (to) Bridge Community

How can words help us build the bridges we need to become part of—and feel part of—a community? How can we listen to ourselves and learn to listen to others? How can words hold us together?

Through body-awareness and poetic exercises, we will explore these questions together and consider how language can contribute to connection, belonging and community-building.

Everyone is welcome, especially people living in and around Schöneweide and the NOVILLA neighbourhood.
